At each synchrotron radiation facility, there are numerous motors to control which play a very important role. Motion control is a key element of any accelerator and beamline.
The aim of this workshop is to provide an overview of status and plans in motion control at synchrotron radiation facilities. For future facilities or already in operation, this workshop could be a step to define requirements and constraints of a new (or replacement) motion control system.
Synchrotron SOLEIL and MAX IV laboratory organize
A workshop “Exchange on Motion Control in Synchrotron Radiation Facilities”
on 11 and 12 May 2011 at the SOLEIL site.

Participants coming from European facilities, will share information through presentations and discussions on following topics
- the overall experience in Motion Control
- the technical solutions used (hardware and software)
- the advanced features
- the strategies and motion control evolution
